My current trilogy is massively AU, so much so that it can only barely be called fanfiction. I have done this so that I can try out ideas that I am using in my original novels without anything to get in the way. Because of how far AU this series is I have created a large cast of original characters. This the complete list, by species, including all biographical information currently in the story.

Nvara Aelfly - Headmistress of Akren Mountain School of Magic. She has held the position for a little more than thirty years. Primarily of Native American descent she is in her late sixties. Tall and very thin, long graying hair and a fondness for deerhide jackets with an overabundance of weaponry. Like many from Akren her name is fake and her past before Akren doesn't exist. She is a first tier threadmage and a master of the voice magics. Has (supposedly) 4 animagi, and is working on several more. Pet magical snow leopard named Shadow.
Prof. Steve Marluck - A tall man with dark silver/gray hair, pale green eyes, age is somewhere in his mid fifties. One of his front teeth was lost in a fight and replaced with a silver one. He teaches tactics and battlefield scenarios class, muggle weapons trainer, and basic Occlumency. Cerberus animagus. Pet is a giant two-headed fire salamander. Married to Kiara Marluck.

Prof. Vaeryes - Mortal, but one parent was a werewolf, teaches bloodmagic, albino. He is frequently brutal with his students and will deliberately set them up to fail, to see if they can catch the mistakes. Generally bad-tempered and rude to almost everyone.
Alexia (Ally) - Student – A tall blue-eyed blonde from California. Her whole family has gone to Akren for generations. She is extremely skilled with just about any weapon and tends to be incredibly vicious and unpredictable.
